We all know that a morning routine can become another demand to perform perfectly. You miss one day and you feel guilty, and then you eventually abandon the whole thing.
The problem is that the reason for doing your routine is wrong. The Stoics offered a better reason to practise. The purpose of the practice is not to create a flawless morning, like a robot ... The purpose is to prepare your judgment for the day you are actually going to have.
The ancient texts do not give us a fixed ten minute schedule, so what follows is a modern adaptation of several exercises found in Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and Seneca.
And remember, its value lies in the questions it asks and not in the exact number of minutes!
